David Ashley Discography
Winds of Fate was officially released on April 10, 2012.
After a bit of a hiatus, David took back to the studio late in 2011. Outcome: Winds of Fate. Eighteen months in the making, this collection proves to be a bit of an eclectic homecoming that is reminiscent of David on Earth.
The CD starts with a cleverly dark tune - Dirty Knees. So now you think the mood is set - but - wait for it... the next song is almost-country, then introspective ballots, then the folk flavored Run, then rock, then a quirky (are you on drugs?) psychedelic thing about a guy who discovered something 'unusual', then some tribal drums, then Rise (is this one or two songs?) ... ya, this CD takes a few turns. But oddly enough by the time Run (reprise) closes the CD, you're thinking 'wow, that worked!' Well, one thing is for sure, even through all the twisty turns - David's heart comes through like it always has in his music. The hidden acoustic track at the end, Poetry, is a nice candid touch too - this song was collaborated with Scott McClymont 30 years ago. Fans will like this, for sure!
