Half Done is done! Officially released on September 28th, 2010, this is a collection that emphasizes the core musical styles and elements that inspired David from youth: blues, acoustic guitar, and percussion.
Still with a good dose of folk rock overtones, this CD has some fun foot stompin' tunes (Half Done, Won't Be Too Long, Everybody Knows, Rescue Me) but doesn't wonder very far from the emotional delivery of previous releases with songs like I see About You Now and Still Chasing.
Blues is the center piece of this project. The CD starts with David walking into a blues bar setting and ends with a blues jam with his friends, Dusty Hughes joining in on vocals. The title track is a front porch acoustic blues tune - purposely delivered raw.
With a hidden track on the printed CD, this is a definite must-have - a strong addition to the David J Ashley discography! Contributing artists include Dusty Hughes, Rick Cupoli, Dave Busby, Joe Busby, Daniel Tucker, and David's wife, Bobbi
